He has really always been funny...it is sad to see this old stuff from these guys that don't do comedy anymore...kind of miss them after they get successful.
You must be referring to their stand-up acts. When they get to the big time many change their venue. Like Steve went into movies (Now, he's the Pink Panther) and Jerry went into TV.
