Over the Fence

In the never ending search for nonsensical and humorous material, it dawned on me that I don't have to look any further than over our own fence line.  Our subdivision is filled with individuals who have baffled both Mr. YnB and myself for years. We love our house, but our neighbors are - err, ummm, how can I say it with sounding judgemental, sorry no can do - peculiar.  Of course, they may be saying the same thing about us, but we know better.

Let's have a peek at some of our "Over the Fence" neighbors....

110 Batcave Drive - A single woman of very few words who comes and goes from her garage (never her front door).   Her electric garage door opener enables her to escape conversation in a single bound.

201 Vampire Court - We could wave to each other from our houses, but this couple likes to keep their blinds closed 24/7.

106 Morning Glory Court - A lovely family that prefers their little yap dog to be outdoors by himself as much as possible.

120 Forest Circle -  where the deer and the antelope play. Is there actually a house in there?

320 Do-it-Yourself Lane - The man of this house is totally into DIY projects; too bad none of them get completed.

365 Black Cloud Trail - Nothing good ever happens here.  As luck would have it, a black cloud hangs over this home 365 days a year.

400 Renters Cove Circle - Thank goodness this house is further into the subdivision so we don't have to drive by it.

455 Athletic Court -  This fit couple jogs by our house daily; great wavers.

917 Rambling Road - Where the RV sits waiting for its next big adventure that never comes.

Stories to come.  Real names withheld to protect the guilty.  Fictional dialogue due to fear of real conversation.

Do you have any unusual neighbors?

I just had to add this video that Nurse Myra said she thought this post reminded her of.  What's he building in there......bwaaahaaahaaaa......Thank you NM

I don't have any unusual neighbours.

But my neighbours do!

Nobs...thanks for catching that!

I have an unusual neighbor that spends a great deal of time judging how unusual other neighbors are.

Oh, and another neighbor that has pink hair and wears a mask all of the time.

TL...count your blessings, those are the best kind of neighbors to have! :-)

neighbors? oh you mean those annoying people who take my parking spot, make too much noise, let their rugrats run all over the place, and leave their garbage cans out on the street all week? they're lovely people!

What Nobblysan said the second time.

How about a naked neighbor at your front door?

Hahaha!! I can't wait for the fictional dialogue, Yang...

Can you start with the neighbors who keep their blinds closed 24/7? Inquiring minds want to know...

Linlah....for real!!! Tell us, tell us!

Ying...Sure, I'll be happy to oblige....anything my readers want (especially my other half), will be my command! :-)

Nobs and Sync....are you sure you are not my neighbors?? Just don't be offended if any of my stories sound familiar! ;-) Welcome Sync!

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes........I think I counted them correctly.

I love your neighborly descriptions.

What fun. Very cute with the addresses matching the actions, I can't wait to meet them!

We have a neighborhood who never finishes projects either. For the past 14 years they've had contractors in and out non-stop! Ugh.

Can't wait to hear the upcoming stories.

this post reminds me of that great Tom Waits' song "what's he building in there"?

Ah....suburbia!

I don't have any stories to share. I don't know any of my neighbors.

Can't wait to hear yours, though! :)

I don't get that video.

Bear...I believe she was referring to 110 Batcave Drive and 201 Vampire Court.

I have a neighbor who whenever I go out the front she instantly appears...she doesn't talk, just pretends to be doing something. Maybe I shouldn't have nicked her water feature last year!
On the other side is a couple with a dog. I have only ever seen him...no sighting of the missus or the dog. I can hear them in there though! You don't happen to think they are scared of me?

Now that the leaves are off the trees I can see my neighbors houses, and vice versa.. I have lots of big glass windows w/ no curtains so I'm sure they're watching!

One neighbor seems to be on a perpetual enhance the neighborhood project... he's always wandering around in his yard. He lost my respect the Sunday morning, around 10 AM when suddenly 4 or more people appeared, with noisy leaf blowers and began clearing his vacant lot of leaves! flaunting his wealth, his retirement, his........
Of course my son hangs out in the garage playing loud headbanging music and whacking on lumps of rock at 10 o'clock at night! So, I'm sure they're thinking bad thoughts about us!

Yikes! I always leave the house through my garage. Hmmm! Oh well, maybe I'll shock my neighbors tomorrow and leave through the front door. LOL! Now I'm wondering if maybe I live in your neighborhood.

Welcome Debbie! Don't fret, I'm sure most of us do come and go through our garages, but we can also be seen in and about our yards, too! :-)
