Maybe it's because I've always loved movies made in the 50's & 60's. Fashion was so "glam" back then. Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn, and my personal favorite, Grace Kelly. There was a scene in the Rear Window when she came over to Jimmy Stewart's place wearing this form fitting number to die for, along with a marvelous dangly bracelet. Simple, yet extremely elegant. Anyway, she had brought along an ultra feminine overnight case that, when popped open, a beautiful chiffon & satin negligee burst out of it. (One of my favorite scenes ever!)
Okay, this leads me to last night when I got hooked on Mad Men. Ever seen it? It's on AMC. Our next door neighbors are hooked on the show, but it wasn't until now (the 3rd season) that I happened to catch it flipping the channels. After "On Demanding" it and seeing 3 episodes (1 hour each) I am now hooked. The cast is excellent, the writing is excellent and so are the costumes. And for some strange reason, you'll crave a drink & a cig after watching.
Here are 3 videos. The first one is a scene from an episode (unfortunately, they don't allow you to embed full scenes) The other two are video mixes (Guys, your eyes will pop right out of your head for the Office Manager, Joan Holloway, so please be sure to pick them up before leaving the room. And TL....Sarah can't hold a candle!)

Do you have a TV show that you follow? It's very seldom that I find one that interests me to the point of being hooked. So, now I've got some catching up to do......

I just started watching this season and love it for all the same reasons.
You've got some catching up to do then, as well!
i've loved mad men from the very first episode. i actually put a note on my calendar so i wouldn't forget the new season was starting. one of the best shows on tv. amc's breaking bad is also very good. very, very different in tone and story from mad men, but good nonetheless.
you simply must watch all of seasons 1 & 2 to get the full flavor of mad men.
oops, forgot to add that i love rear window, too. one of my favorite hitchcock movies, along with dial m for murder, strangers on a train, rope, and shadow of a doubt.
Anyone psyched about Psyche being back but me. haha
Nons...I saw the first episode of this season on Sunday, now I'm catching up with season 2 On Demand. I've watched the first 3 episodes so far. Unfortunately, Season 1 is not available. I guess I'll have to rent it. IT IS SOOOO GOOD!! I'm about to go watch another couple of episodes!
I loved the costumes! Superb! It reminds me of a movie I watched a few months ago 'Revolutionary Road' with Di Caprio and Winslet. Awesome movie!
I haven't been watching much TV lately, so I'm not following anything. But one show that I'll always remember is 'Six Feet Under'. I loved that.
;-)

Hmmmm! Looks like I'll have to give Mad Men a try!
I don't think I watch anything religiously, but for a while there, I was bonkers over "Boston Legal"! Great cast and entertaining (read: bizarre) plots.
While Joan is definitely hot, she has one fatal flaw...she doesn't smile. I only dig chicks that smile and laugh a lot. (Maybe she has British teeth so it's not really her fault).
Oh, and she couldn't hold Sarah's jockstrap.
It looks like a pretty good show! I may have to check it out soon.
I LOVE Mad Men. Have seen Seasons 1 and 2 and can't wait for season 3 to hit our shores.
I also used to be addicted to Deadwood and Firefly
TL, cut it out about the British teeth. Mine are perfect (although veneered to the hilt. Underneath, I dread to think).
How strange - just before I visited your blog I had suggested to The NDM that she watch Mad Men. Genius.
Ivan...I never did get into Six Feet Under.
Sweats...I've started watching Boston Legal lately since it comes on more often now. It is a quirky little show!
TL..oh she smiles, just not the cheshire cat type.
George...give it a try, you might like it.
NM...Don is a man pig but a HOT one!!
WIB...whose "The NDM"? Nice to see you!
