LET'S TALK ....TATS

For us virgin skinned bloggers who never wanted to tarnish our skin with a tattoo, but had hidden desires to do so.......what would that tat have been and where would you have had it placed?

For moi...it would have been a very small, tasteful rose or possibly a small butterfly right at that sensual spot in the middle of your lower back. (I couldn't find a pic of either, the closest I came was this dragonfly....it's a bit larger and placed a tad higher than my desired tat)

I have a tat on my forehead. It reads “My other tattoo is a Porsche”

I've always fancied having -

llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch ***

tattoed on my . . .

But, it wasn't long enough . . . had to miss the last two letters off (sigh)

*** Translation for those who don't have the welsh = The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave

I've never had the urge.

Why mess with perfection?

yea, i never had the guts (or desire for pain) to get one either.

i think it would have been something really small on the back of my shoulder. i don't know what though.. that would take me years to decide on

Geo...it must be the artist in me...I think when it is discreet and placed strategically, it can be very sexy.

BD...back of shoulder or above ankle can also be sexy.

I always wanted a nice little rose across the top of my shoulder but never got the nerve. I think it would be really sexy there.

Hi Terri! Ditto about the nerve, and now I'm a bit old to be getting tattoos!

i would get a grape tattoo. that way, as i get older and get more and more wrinkles, it will look like a raisin, and that's advertising for my blog!

YNB...don't you know lower back tatoos are known as tramp stamps. means you are easy!

let's see...if i had a tattoo it would be a maori tribal image on the top of my left foot like the lines of a flip flop. what? too specific?

If I had to get a tattoo... I'd take a tramp stamp... very low at base of spine, a very small cirlce looking like a spiral..
Duncanr: funny... and food for fantasy....
Alan: I love your sense of humor...

I've got one on my left shoulder. why get one in an area where you have to use a mirror to see it?

Other than it being a cultural fad (I'm there is studies out there on fads) I don't get it.

I relate it to fashion/style. So why would I think I would still like the same fashion/style 10 years from now. Maybe in five years I would not like it. YNB, you said you're too old - what's that mean? A young person will hopefully get old and still have that tattoo hanging on. So do you mean young people get more use out of their tattoos?

One other point - just attended a wedding last weekend. One of the bridesmaids had a large tattoo on her upper arm (sleeveless dress). At the very least, it was distracting and I'm sure others thought even less of it.

I don't think the inked people think long term much (IMHO).

I was reading the comments to see if anyone pointed out to you that you are wanting a TRAMP stamp. Though they look cute now, I have a few cousins of the full not Hapa like me hispanic persuasion and their stamps turned into stretched out mutilated blobs of ink. Plus it's kinda considered ... slutty. Do I have one? I have one on my lower left side. Placed strategically to peak out above my bikini bottoms. I got it when I was 18. That was a very long time ago.

I will be getting a sleeve soon. They're pricey though. Go get stamped!
