Emily Swanson of New Haven, CT won this year's Golden Cup for the Long Island Sound "Miss Swimsuit" Competition with her form fitting two-piece and coordinating socks. The judges claimed it was a difficult decision to make, but their deciding factor was based on the assumption that Miss Swanson's swimsuit would be least likely to cause drowning. Betty Mulson of Brooklyn, NY was awarded the Silver Cup for second place. Henrietta Stillhouse of Bridgeport, CT took home the coveted third place award of a floral parasol, while Marge Wilson of Stony Brook, NY won tickets to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall for fourth place.

I think that third girl stole my swimsuit and my award what with my fair skin and all.
That is a great picture. But I can only imagine what the women in the photo looked like AFTER then went swimming :-)

TL...That certainly wouldn't surprise me, considering the slutty swimsuit she chose to wear for the competition. Of course she won! More than likely the judges were all men.

Yesteryears..aren't they something, maybe not practical but something. (I wanted to use classy but the boots and socks, or are they socks and socks, threw it away).
