Yes, today marks six months of operations here at TY&B headquarters. Grilled cheese sandwiches, fish & chips, cupcakes, yorkshire puddings, and jellybeans were served for the celebratory lunch, all the officers favorites. Yellow, red and blue ballons decorated our offices while we rocked to the tunes of Elton John and Michael Jackson. Simon overate and barfed up his french fries, Mr. YnB is now asleep on the sofa and I am left to report about our momentous achievements of the past six months. Fortunately, the list is very short.
As of right now:
- 5333 Total Visitors from 45 different countries (now this might not seem much of an achievement but it does only represent first time visitors and no visits from TY&B personnel)
- 187 Posts (amusing, non-amusing, informational, non-informational, enlightening, non-enlightening, interactive and ridiculous)
- 12 Followers (we're not too concerned with this low statistic as long as we continue to see our friends returning to say hi and offer their 2 cents.)
THANK YOU EVERYONE!

My experience is that if you make the 6 month point in blogging, you're set for a long career.
Many congrats to you and them.
Congratulations YnB.
I'm sure I must be boosting your figures up - the number of times I check your site each day checking for any new posts/comments !!!
As long as you keep blogging, I'll keep returning. You've built a 'fun' site here that's a pleasure to visit.
P.S. Have I won the front door competition ?
And I wasn't invited? I like all those things. Probably good I wasn't there, or I would have been fast asleep too.
I used to have a counter, but I nixed it to make more room. I'll just have to imagine all those visitors. All 7 of them.
Congratulations on a milestone.
'Celebrate the little things'
Julie! That's us she's talking about...
Thanks guys! I'm sorry I've been gone for the past few days (well, not really) while I had out-of-town guests (a brother and sister-in-law). We had a great time. I'll be getting to the contest as soon as possible to let everyone know who won!
Nobs...I know you're just joking! ;-)
I love milestones as long as they don't include a cake with candles.
Lin...I hear ya!!
How do you know how many people have been on your blog and where they are from?
Geo...look below.
congrats, ynb! i've never had yorkshire pudding. may i have some to help you celebrate?
Wow over 5000 unique visitors. That's how many I got in a year. Yet they weren't unique and half of them were me
congrats...look forward to many more months.
Nons....yorkshire pudding isn't what you probably think it is. It's not a pudding, it's sort of like a popover served with gravy as an appetizer or sidedish. Yummy! I can make an entire dinner of them.
Thanks Bear!! I believe the uniqueness comes from IP addresses rather than viewers. So, if you view the blog from different computers, it will distort the total viewership, which I believe happens quite a bit.

will tell you all about yorkiepuds
Many congrats! How do you know you just have 12 followers? are you tracking regular commenters? I suspect that many of us have loyal readers who never surface but are clearly reading... all the time!
I love blogging and I love your variety... and the games! Even, if I came in second! By the way, Tootsie is a wonderful addition!
"HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY YnB!"
I can't wait to see what the next six months will bring!
(hopefully this works, I tried to post three times last night but kept getting kicked off)
Dave...I watched that, but if we made them that way they would come out like crap. We use 2 eggs, 1 cup flour and 1 cup skim milk. Oven needs to be at 500 degrees. It took a long time to get the recipe correct. We figured it must be the flour, the altitude and climate differences. Mr. YnB's sister came over one time many years ago while we were still experimenting with recipes and couldn't get them to rise correctly. She told us she was the Yorkshire Pud Queen and could make them perfect for us. Well, hers came out like burnt flying saucers! We'll never let her live that one down!
Thank you DF & B...you guys are the best!! B...I hope that crap isn't happening again. I thought after that last round a couple of months ago, everything got fixed and everyone was able to comment easily. Let me know if it continues.
DF...the 12 followers are in Google Friend Connect (You can see it below). Any other followers I am unaware of, except for those of you who comment regularly.
cool.. I'll have to check it out.. ON Wordpress you can see where people come in from sometimes.. and i click on those links to go back and check them out.. found some interesting links.. and some odd ones.. but I have no clue of absolute numbers, would love to know though.
How did you set that up?
