Cold Mornings & Blow Jobs

First off.....get your mind out of the gutter.  I know what you're thinking, and this post isn't going there.  It did get your attention though, didn't it?

For the first time this season a chill was in the air this morning inside the house so it was the first time I turned  the heat on when I got out of bed.  Just enough to take the chill out.  Simon got up with me and we began our morning routine.  First stop- master bathroom, second stop - coffee, third stop - back door, let Simon out - let him back in, fourth stop - office.  This is where Simon and I hang out for awhile.  He has his own furry pillow located in such a spot that he can keep an eye (rather an ear since he mostly naps) on me and my activities.

I hadn't even noticed that he didn't follow me into the office this morning until Mr. YnB came in and asked where Simon was.  My first thought was a bit panicked, "Did I not let him back in?", but I went through my thought process and remembered I definitely let him in.  Whew. Do you ever get caught up with a routine that it becomes somewhat mechanical you don't realize if you've done or not done something?

This is where we found the little guy

It's amazing  he remembers the sound of the air blowing out of the heat registers from season to season and knows that he can get himself warmed up with a personal blow job.

Do you have a morning routine?

My routine starts around 3am (sometimes earlier, rarely later) when I get up, go to the bathroom, then get dressed.

Next it's through to the kitchen/office and a hello to the dogs. This 'hello' is always a wildly enthusiastic affair lasting around 10 minutes in which they try to jump all over me and lick my face and I (literally) roll about on the floor with them.

Once we've finished strengthening the 'pack bond' it's off to the park. Once there, I let them off the lead and they disappear into the dark night to chase foxes, scoff any discarded half-eaten take-aways they can find, and startle couples 'courting' in the bushes.

Then it's home. Feed the dogs. Put the kettle on. Pour some black, sweet coffee (1st of many) then logon, check emails, do some work, check blogs etc

Pretty exciting stuff, eh ?

Yes yes, the routine. Out of bed, to the toilet, downstairs to the kitchen, a cold drink with a pain pill for my knee, then on to whatever. It's so etched in stone, that sometimes I can't remember if I took that pill.

you just think simon was in the house the entire time. i clearly saw him chewing through ropes that were holding down a big mylar balloon and then taking off in the balloon while authorities chased him all over the place. clever simon had a little parachute and jumped out over your house and landed safely. that's why he was so chilly. it gets cold at 5,000 feet.

Get up, turn computer on, stumble downstairs and feed cat.... it's all a blur after that....

Why, just the other night, I left the dog outside all night... went to let him out and there he was! On a side note, how come I ended up here when I Googled "Blow Job?"

Wake up...get on the computer, eat, computer, eat, exercise, computer, eat

Nons....not only could that be a possibility, we've had talks with him about moonlighting when we see him in ads. We haven't been able to find where he stashes all his money! ;-)

NM...I can just picture you doing that!

Now Indy...I'm shocked that you would google such a thing! ;-) I like how you've linked your iReport page - clever! Great to see you as always!

Bear...you actually squeeze in some exercising...woohoo!

I love simon!

Seriously, I want him...and I'm not even a dog person!

Oh dear... this getting ones arse out of bed mallarkey never gets any easier, does it?

I'd always assumed that once I got past my teenage years that getting up would be relatively easy.

It just shows how wrong you can be.

Here's the Irish view of things, as well as my own:-

B...I never was a dog person until I found out about Yorkies. Some people don't even call them dogs, but we love him dearly and no one else can have him! :-)

My mind is not in the gutter, but you can't use blow job in the header and them have a doggie post...its just not fair.

you should get Simon a blow dryer for Christmas. Maybe rig up a blow dryer that he can operate - put him on youtube - big viral hit.
Yes I have a routine but it depends on which day of the week it is.

naw YnBs, my motto is to never do anything the same way twice, i get bored easily. in fact, i try not to put things in the same place twice, keeps Trippin' Rip on his toes. can't have him getting too comfortable! (he will verify this fact)

Simon is a total doll. Poor baby. He has to stand in front of the vent to warm up!

As for routines: I get up about 6 am to my daughter already in the shower in my master bathroom. The husband is on his way out the door. I have a cup of coffee (the husband makes coffee for me before he leaves - he doesn't even drink it) Then I take my shower after my daughter is finished. When I'm done and dressed, I go wake up the next youngest child and he gets in the main shower while I get ready for work. When he gets out, he gets the next oldest in who in turn gets the oldest in. The little ones leave the house and walk to school at the same time I leave for work, the second oldest leaves within half an hour of me and the younger two and the oldest one is supposed to leave and go look for work. We do this every weekday morning.

FJ...and who ever said life was fair??? ;-)

Lisle...I might have to give that one a try!

Lynne...does Rip "trip" over things because you are always moving things around?? :-)

Claire...I had a hard time keeping up with all that. It sounds like your household has their schedule down pat. Now, why do the youngest two go out looking for work? How old are they?

LOL the younger two leave for school at the same time I leave for work and the oldest one goes out to look for work. The little ones are 8 and 9 and the oldest will be 19 in 2 weeks.

LOL!! I read it the other way with the younger 2 leaving with your oldest child! :-)

ahh good one incorporating my favorite word! (trip) actually, it's quite neat and sparse for the most part. things are put away, jsut not where they were the last time....my routine would be this way: get up, drink 1 cup coffee, plan meals, turn on machine, blog sporatically throughout the day, take dog to dog-park or walk pretty much in that order.
