Playing For Change

This is especially for my friend HighPlainsGirl who loves all types of music.....

Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.

And I just love that song, one of my most favorites.
I do have a lot of hope for this world and seeing efforts like theses- just reinforces that we can have very postive changes for the planet, it just takes steps like these and hopefully more will follow!
Thank you again for finding this and sharing! :)

What a great project, thanks for the link. It reminds me of Where the Hell is Matt? from last year. Was Matt an inspiration for this?

Oh wow, Yorksnbeans, thank you!!! Very cool!

I just watched the video, and I have to agree that music speaks in a language and about things that words alone can't really reach. Wouldn't it be cool if everyone around the world remembered that?

ann...glad you got to watch it. I love all the singers and musicians but for some reason I really dig Grandpa Elliott!!

Andy...no I had not heard of Matt. That was brilliant as well. Thanks very much (as I am bopping around the room) :-) That video really portrays how much all people can connect through music!

Hey HPG!! I'm so glad you liked it! ;-)

i think things like music bring us back to something basic within ourselves, where we are all the same. none of our learned fear or prejudices live in that basic part of ourselves, so we are able to relate to each other simply as human beings. too bad we all can't go there once the music stops.

I'm just waking up here in America. Have coffee, published my post, now surfing my favs. I have to tell you that this video speaks to me. I'm gonna have to steal it to show the Tripsters. I have always been a stong advocate of music therapy and I think it was a brilliant project. Can't wait to go to the site and read more about it. This is one fantastic post on so many levels. Oh, and I thought the song was perfect!

BD...sometimes you have to click "post comment" twice for the comment to be accepted. You probably realized that, since it did post.

Yes, I like their music so much I think I'm going to purchase their CD!
