IF YOU ASK ME.....
IF YOU ASK ME.....what the most unusual person's name I've ever heard of, it would be "Bo-Peep". My mother worked with a woman whose name was Bo-Peep, and it was NOT a nickname. Her parents actually named her this! Do you know, or ever knew, someone with a really odd name?

Here are two:
I was friends with a guy whose last name was Quakenbush.
And I worked with a guy who named his first child Trek Waterhouse... as in the bike brands.
Quite unusual. Is Waterhouse his middle or last name?
Ivan Awfulitch? (Learned that one in 3rd grade)
SAM....although this is not a real name, it did get a huge laugh from me!! ;-)
How bout...Isobel Necessary Onabike
When I was in second grade, I met a girl who was named HerMajesty Moonlight. This was in 1979 in a land of Daves, Jameses, and Tonyas. She was just a regular kid and, as far as I know, she had normal parents.
I see her today and I just wanna ask her how it is being a grown woman with such a weird name.
Do you have to bow each time you address her?? :-)
Back to Bo-peep. Did her parents call her Little or LIL
Part of what I do involves manning our company's booth at job fairs, so I meet a *lot* of people. Well, one day I met Marijuan Jones. THE Marijuan Jones, because I can't believe anyone else would hang that name on their kid.
i was in the supermarket one day, and a kid about 10 years old was acting out just a little bit. his parents turned out to be the people in front of me on the check-out line. they yelled over to him, "serpico!" the cashier and i and several other shoppers all looked at each other and didn't know whether to laugh or feel bad for the kid. then again, serpico is not as bad as one of my grandmother's cousins, shmiel zinkfoigel. i'm told he really did exist and isn't a family legend.
In the town where my gradpa lives there is a an elderly woman named Amazing Grace. She is constantly in the paper getting arrested for driving without a license.
Bear...I really don't know since it was someone my mom knew. but it certainly wouldn't have surprised me!
mama - did they drop the "a" with the hopes no one would notice?? ;-)
nonnie...would you happen to be part of the tribe?? If so, so am I, although I can't claim to have a relative with such a name!
VOG...if only he lived a life worthy of her name! :-)
yes i am, ynb! i'd have to be to have a relative with a name like that!
I have a cousin named Gittel.
I figured so!! :-)
Geo...would she happen to play the fiddle? ooh, my bad! ;-0
I always liked Larry Lipshitz as a name. ;) It's the one I use when I get a pizza at PIzza Hut.
Hey, I'll have to try that one! Nice to meet you Dusty....thanks for stopping in. I'll come visit you at your place!
I must warn ya..my blog is not funny or fun. It's politics.. ;)
Even though I just swore off any more political posts here at TY&B, I still continue to give my two political cents on other blogs!! ;-)
No problemo! ;)
Reverend Harry Kuntz
Seriously...
ROFLMAO.....NO WAY!!
there's a racecar driver named dick passwater. i remember years ago cutting out an article about a hotel security expert named....norman bates! in case you think i'm kidding, google his name! when i worked as a loan secretary in a bank, i had to type up a loan for richard head (yes, dick head!). i laughed the entire time. that said, none of those names compares to harry kuntz!
My buddy was named Hudda...we used to call him Hudda Thunk...
Honestly, my dad had a business partner named Richard Peters.
After all these, Bo-Peep sounds pretty tame!
Nonnie reminded me of this one..
Dick Trickle
Yes, that is his real name and he is a NASCAR driver from the old days.
Just the name, Dick, these days is bad enough, but coupled with these last names is just a hoot!!
Oh, and um..I forgot. My son's names are Rocky and Dino. When they were little, I got a lot of "gawd..did you hear what she called her kids?"
Sweats....was the Flintstones one of your favorite cartoons by and chance? ;-)
