Deactivated iReport Account

Well folks, I did it. I deactivated my account at iReports. I think I finally had it with that website. It has definitely changed and is no longer interesting IMO. There was one straw that finally broke the camel's back today which pushed me into the decision. As a singular reason, the decision might be considered petty or a bit rash, but when in context with my other reasons, it just made sense to deactivate it. I could change my feelings if I notice things changing for the better, but until then, hasta la vista iReports!

I saw your name crossed out and I thought- that can't be right. There's no way you were banned! Glad to find out that it was intentional suspension. :)

Yes, m2, now I'll have more time to try and develop this site. I hope to bring some interesting things here. Continue to check back in! Glad to see you again!

Hey it is fun here, and we don't all have the same opinions, nor talk on and on about politics. Ireports seems to be polarized at the moment, it is not a site where you can voice your opinions, and it is not due to the Ireport team. It is the reporters who have to dominate, and feel validated by doing so?? A little sick, but every dog has his day. Good to see you over here. Welcome

Hey Karma! It's sad that it has changed so much. I used to enjoy the variety of interesting reports, but nowadays it's just a bunch of cry babies, whiners and egomaniacs. So little substance.

Hey York
I tried to view your ireport about levi being a sell-out to the Palins (something like that).. but when I got there I couldn't get to it. What happened ?

Hiya Yorkie!!!

hugs to ya!

I agree... iReport is in decline now.
It was at one time and exciting and bold place to blog and comment.

Hi YnB! Indy passed on the URL to me. I do understand your losing interest in iReport- it really isn't as much fun as it used to be. I had set up a blogspot account last year (shockingly using my real name and pic as you can now tell) but have never done anything with it other than give it a title. Maybe I'll do a little more now that I see what you're doing. Writing an actual blog has always seemed much more challenging to me than simply posting an iReport which is perhaps too easy to do. Anyway, I like your blog and I'll visit regularly

Hi Cue! I saw your last comment on your iReport. You are too sweet! You had a very good question, too. I debated whether I should just stop posting or make a statement by deativating and I decided to go with the latter. The staff needs to not only listen to the problems users are having, but take action as well. It seems to me it is becoming less of a news/opinion site and more of bickering site and one that is also designed to reward egomaniacs and nastiness.

Nice blog, Yorks... I will check in frequently, heck I may even create an ID. We'll miss your voice on iReports... hugs to you & Mr. Beans.

I deactivated my account too. For the same reasons you did, I just thought it was becoming a petty site, and also I didn't feel the same freedom of expression that I do here with a real blog. Here you can do artistic, creative stuff too... not just politics and news.
